Kamrul joined UNODC in Bangladesh in October 2011. He is responsible for the implementation and coordination of UNODC's anti-human trafficking project. He also supports various activities under UNODC's Regional Programme for South Asia. 

   

 

Anupama Chouhan

Administrative Assistant

Anupama joined UNODC in April 2007. She assists the Regional Representative in the overall day-to-day management and coordination of office activities and manages her agenda. She also acts as the security focal point for UNODC.

   

 

Binija Goperma

Programme Coordinator (Nepal)

Since 2008, Binija is responsible for the overall management and delivery of UNODC's programme in Nepal. She has extensive experience in UN technical assistance programming, exhibits sound knowledge on programme management, gender responsive planning, planning and policy development, advocacy and awareness, as well as on issues related to drug use prevention, HIV/AIDS, migration and human trafficking. She has over fifteen years of experience in working with diversified systems, sectors, organizations and clientele, ranging from the private sector, civil society, government, donors, international organizations, bilateral agencies and other UN organizations.

    

 

Deepika Naruka

Programme Coordinator for Countering Transnational Organised Crime and Trafficking

Deepika Naruka is the Programme Coordinator for countering transnational organised crime (TOC) and trafficking.  She has extensive experience on human security, gender and development in various countries, and has worked with UNODC in South Asia, East Asia & Pacific, and at the headquarters. She also brings experience of having worked with other UN agencies and organisations, including with UN Disarmament Research, UNDP, etc. in other regions. Her academic background is in International Relations and Chemistry, with specialisation in Conflict Analysis & UN Peacekeeping. 

   

 

Devendra Dutt

Law Enforcement Expert (Consultant)

Devendra Dutt is associated with UNODC as Consultant Law Enforcement Expert for South Asia. He superannuated from the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Excise) in 2008 as a Member of the Central Board of Excise & Customs in the Union Ministry of Finance. He has served with the Narcotics Control Bureau in operational and Headquarters roles. He is currently the Secretary of the Institute of Narcotics Studies and Analysis (INSA). He also served as a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army from 1968 to 1974. Devendra Dutt received the President of India Award on Republic Day, 1989 for distinguished record of service and devotion to duty and Commendation Certificate from the Central Board of Excise and Customs, Government of India for the work done in the field of Anti-Smuggling, Tax Evasion and Illicit Traffic in Foreign Exchange, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. He has also been a Hubert Humphrey Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA in Drug Abuse Control.

   

 

Geeta Bhaskar

Administrative and Finance Assistant

Geeta joined UNODC in New Delhi in March 2012. She supports the Office's work on anti-corruption and HIV prevention in prisons.

   

 

Imrul Kayes

Programme Coordinator (Bangladesh)

Imrul Kayes has been working at Bangladesh Program Office of UNODC/ROSA since October 2017. He achieved Master of International & Development Economics degree from Australian National University. A member of Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration Cadre), Imrul has previously worked with the Government of Bangladesh as an Executive Magistrate. His most recent assignment was with the Ministry of Public Administration, where he worked as an Senior Assistant Secretary. At UNODC, Imrul's responsibilities include substantive and financial implementation of crime prevention and criminal justice reforms projects in Bangladesh.

   

 

Jyotiee Mehra

Programme Manager

Jyotiee joined UNODC in New Delhi in July 2017. Jyotiee manages UNODC's drug use and health-related initiatives in South Asia, and resource mobilization for project activities. Jyotiee has a Doctor of Philosophy degree and has about 28 years of experience in the areas of public health programme planning, design, research, training, grant management, monitoring and evaluation. She has worked on projects funded by international donor organizations including Department of Foreign Aid and Trade, Australia, UK Aid and DANIDA. Jyotiee has previously worked with UNODC and coordinated with WHO and UNAIDS on drug harm reduction. 

   

 

Madhu Sharma

National Programme Officer (Terrorism Prevention)

Madhu joined UNODC as National Programme Officer (Terrorism Prevention) in June 2017. She possesses  multi-sectoral experience across poverty alleviation, micro-credit, and economic empowerment of women, livelihoods, gender, reproductive health and HIV. She has worked with the Government, NGOs, European Delegation in India, The World Bank and UNDP.  Madhu has a Masters in Social Work, an MBA and a Doctorate in Management. Her responsibilities include providing assistance in addressing the legal and criminal justice aspect of countering terrorism under the guidance of UNODC's Global Terrorism Prevention Branch.

Md. Gausul Alam has been a part of UNODC in Bangladesh since September 2017. He provides all administrative and financial related support to Regional Office, Terrorism Prevention Projects as well other projects.

   
 

 

Pema Namgyel

Pema joined UNODC in Bhutan in July 2017. He is responsible for the administration and finance of UNODC's anti-human trafficking project.

   

 

Poonam Bhambri

Poonam joined UNODC in 1989. She is responsible for the human resource management of the regional office.

   
 

 

Rajesh Kumar

Field Office Support Engineer

Rajesh joined UNODC in November 2003. He is responsible for providing support to field offices with their day-to-day information technology needs. 

   

 

Samarth Pathak

Communications Officer

Samarth joined UNODC in May 2017 as the Communications Officer for South Asia. He is responsible for coordinating communication and outreach, producing content and spearheading advocacy and partnership initiatives. His experience encompasses policy analysis and public advocacy, Track II Diplomacy, strategic communications, and news reporting and production. Samarth also writes for The Huffington Post, and his reports and op-eds have previously appeared in Medium, The Guardian, Reuters Alertnet, The Dawn, Hardnews and The Asian Age. 

   

 

Savita Bhat

Project Assistant

Savita has been working with UNODC since 1999. She provides financial and administrative support to the regional project on drug law enforcement.

   

 

Seema Joshi Arya

Technical Officer

Seema joined UNODC in June 2017 as a Technical Officer for South Asia. Seema has specific experience in access to justice, human rights, justice sector reforms, and environmental issues. She provides technical guidance to the regional project on Strengthening cross-border and community responses to illicit drugs in South Asia.  

   

 

Shanaka Jayasekara

Programme Coordinator (Sri Lanka)

Shanaka joined UNODC in 2013 as an international staff member. He served as a Programme Officer (Counter Piracy) in Seychelles from 2013-2015 supporting piracy prosecutions, and Programme Officer (Maritime Crime) in Kenya from 2015-2017 developing initiatives to counter heroin trafficking on the Southern Route. He currently serves as Programme Coordinator (ROSA) in Sri Lanka, and manages the Maritime Crime Programme portfolio in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives and Seychelles. 

   

 

Sonam Wangdi

National Project Coordinator (Bhutan)

Sonam joined UNODC in September 2017 as the National Project Coordinator. He manages the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) project in Bhutan. 

   

 

Srijana Newa Manandhar

Administrative Assistant

Srijana has been a part of UNODC in Nepal since December 2008. She provides financial and administrative support to the projects on female injecting drug users and the prevention of HIV and AIDS among drug users in SAARC countries.

   

 

Stella Thomas

Finance Officer

Stella joined UNODC in February 2004. She holds the overall responsibility for overseeing the management of all UNODC financial resources. She is also responsible for the administrative aspects of human resource management.

   

 

Suruchi Pant

Deputy Representative

Suruchi Pant is the Deputy Representative of UNODC Regional Office for South Asia. She is responsible for the management and programmatic oversight of all technical cooperation projects/programmes at UNODC ROSA. Over the last several years, she has managed various projects and initiatives on drugs and health, organized crime, corruption and criminal justice and her focus is to identify and develop new programmes, raise funds and advocate for the implementation of the Regional Programme for South Asia in close cooperation with UNODC partners in the South Asia region. She works with Governments, funding partners, UN and civil society to explore new partnerships for programming in UNODC mandated areas of drugs, crime, terrorism, criminal justice and corruption. 

   

 

Nabaraj Giri

Driver

Nabraj joined UNODC in Nepal in July 2008. He works for the Nepal office and drives staff and official guests safely to their destinations.

Security Guards

The Guards have been with UNODC since April 2004. They ensure proper security checks at the entrance and exit of persons and goods into and out of UNODC premises.
