IntroductionThe Regional Office for West and Central Africa (ROSEN)Based in Dakar, the Regional Office for West and Central Africa covers 22 countries (15 in West Africa and 7 in Central Africa), where French, English, Portuguese and Spanish are spoken. Current UNODC projects cover the following issues: � Demand Reduction: our mission is to supply technical assistance to Member States in their fight against drugs via the Inter-Ministerial Committees, and to NGOs in the field of prevention, treatment and reintegration of addicts. � Money Laundering: our mission is to provide technical assistance to Member States in the development and implementation of harmonized legislation that conforms to international standards, and assist in the creation of national offices that will coordinate national anti money-laundering actions. � Trafficking in Human Beings: our mission is to provide technical assistance to Member States for the development/harmonization of legislation with the ECOWAS Action Plan, as well as to assist in the strengthening of national agencies working in the fight against human trafficking. � Supply Reduction and Illicit Drug trafficking Suppression: our mission is to provide technical assistance to States, particularly to their customs, police and gendarmerie services, in the suppression of illicit drug trafficking. � Crime Prevention: our mission is to provide technical and financial assistance to police and justice officials in the region of Dakar, Senegal.
